Sat in weeds at edge of alfalfa field, bashed a set of Rattling Forks artificial antlers together, grunted a few times and this guy ran out to engage. Shot him with a Canon 70D and 100-400 lens from about 65 yards several times before he figured out I was not the fight he anticipated. Rattling works best in and around the rutting season where buck to doe ratios are high and there s a good distribution of mature bucks. This was one of many 2.5 to 3.5 year old free-range bucks on Laughing Water Ranch near Bassett, NE.
