Today’s snow reminds me of this flurry we enjoyed during a deep wilderness backpack sheep hunt in B.C. About 18 years ago. One of my favorite guides, Dawson Deveny, and outfitter Bryan Martin led the tour of this spectacular mountain country where mountain goats outnumbered Stone’s sheep by a ratio of several dozen to 1! But we got our ram, that little 5# Kifaru Rambling Rifle in 300 WSM spitting a 165-grain Swift Scirocco 401 yards to the shoulder. Leupold VXII 2-7x33mm scope. Dawson loaned me the plastic Koflach mountaineering boots and I kept the blisters for weeks to prove it. What a glorious time in Nature’s bosom. A hard, cold, but beautiful bosom. #sheephunt #stonesheephunting #kifaruramblingrifle #300wsm #swiftscirocco #leupoldoptics #backpackhunting #ronspomeroutdoors #snowsquall
