I was able to close within 300 yards in the wide open, but he started angling away and I couldn’t risk a more blatant approach, so I took him from 350 yards, which was no big deal for the H-S Precision 2000 lightweight rifle in 300 WSM. Nightforce SHV in Talley Rings. Win. 150-grain Power Max Bonded Bullets, of all things. They are quite accurate in that rifle and recoil is negligible. One and done— except for the long haul out.
